SquidxIP Knowledge Base

Understanding network intelligence, privacy protection, and how our deep ocean analytics work.

What is IP Geolocation?
IP Geolocation is a technique used to approximate the physical location of an internet-connected device. SquidxIP aggregates data from multiple global registries (RIRs) and real-time latency analysis to provide city-level accuracy. While not GPS-precise, it's essential for content localization and security analysis.
How does Risk Analysis Work?
Our "Indigo Defense" system scans IP addresses against known blacklists of proxies, VPNs, and Tor exit nodes. We analyze ISP ASN (Autonomous System Number) data to detect datacenter IPs often used by bots. Color-coded badges (Green/Yellow/Red) indicate the trust level of a connection.
Is my data private?
Absolutely. SquidxIP operates with a privacy-first architecture. Your search history is stored locally in your browser or securely in your private Firestore collection if logged in. We do not sell your search queries to third parties. All lookups are performed over encrypted SSL connections.
What is Device Fingerprinting?
Device fingerprinting gathers public information your browser shares with websites, such as User Agent, Screen Resolution, and Battery Status. SquidxIP displays this data to help you understand what information websites can see about you when you browse the web.
